aquilea-of-the-lonely-mountain:
I’m happy
to announce the first … Mithril & Acorns – a Bagginshield-themed Gift
Exchange!!Gift Exchange
It’s a gift
exchange for the upcoming holidays. We already have some art/fix exchanges in
our lovely fandom, but this one is a “physical” – which means that you craft a
little gift and send it to your partner by mail! It’s
basically a Secret Santa – you will not get to know who has got your name, and
it will stay a surprise until you receive your gift 🙂Mithril & Acorns
Your gift
doesn’t have to be a wrought of mithril, of course, and you won’t have to
travel to Beorn’s garden as well! But since it’s a Bagginshield-themed
exchange, there should be a connection to our king and burglar. There’s no
limit to your creativity otherwise – you can draw art, or craft something. A
notebook for a creative hobbit? A keychain for a ring or a special key? Or –
very dwarven – a little piece of hand-made jewellery? Whatever you want – as
long as there’s a connection to Bagginshield! How to participate
Very
simple: Send me an email to mithril_and_acorns@yahoo.com. Please tell me your
tumblr-username, and – since your partner will send the gift to you – your name
and postal address.I will send you a message on tumblr as soon as possible to confirm your
mail.Dates
& TimesYou can sign up until October 31st. Partner mails will be
send out the next day.November is for your crafting – make sure to send your gift to your
partner by November 30th the latest! This should leave enough time
for crafting, but also for the package to reach its destination in time for the
holidays. If you shouldn’t be able to send a gift to your partner for whatever
reason, please tell me as soon as possible! After all, every participant should
get a gift, and I will see that this happens. The
revealYou can
post little sneak peaks of your crafting (without revealing the whole of it, of
course). But keep your partner a secret! The time
for the reveal is when you receive the gift from your partner. You can post a
picture of your gift, and tell us who sent it to you!You don’t
have to wait until all participants got their gifts, but can open yours as soon
as it arrives at your home. For
questions, posts and the like use the hashtag Mithril&Acorns please! I also opened a side blog
mithril-and-acorns.tumblr.com where I’ll reblog all entries.It’s still
a bit too early to say “happy crafting” … But I’m already looking forward to
get your assignment mails 🙂
