imo in #discourse about weight, body image, and discrimination we have to remember the explicitly misogynistic roots of the push for women to be thin & how the way that weight is gendered impacts the nature of “fatphobia” & also how it overlaps with the kind of paedophilic pressure for women to present as like girls in their mid teens. That’s not to say men who are fat don’t face shit for it or anything but that the public disgust about fat is overwhelmingly targeted at women & that the roots of “fatphobia” for men and women have entirely different roots and entirely different solutions.
