What’s one obviously false thing did you believe long after you should have figured it out?

Mine was my grandmother telling me that if I wore lipstick, my lips would lose their natural color.

I misunderstood the term “Hascidic Jews” and thought it was “Acidic Jews.” As a small child I thought their faith was so strong that G-d gave them the power to spit acid.

It took a bit longer than it should for me to realize I had misunderstood.

I think I was in my 20s.

I’m not sure any other answer to this question, though they are all great, will be able to touch this.

I thought that touching anything rusty would give me tetanus and I would die.
