I was skulking around Barnes and Noble and I found this book in the medicine section (because that just where I end up by default) called Outbreak. it’s sort of a soft introduction to micro except it’s in a historical context and the writing is just sassy enough. I’ve only gotten a few chapters in but I’ve really enjoyed it so far.
So if you’re looking for something fun, smart and with context you should read it with me!

The kittens are now over 3 weeks old so I wanted to update this post! A lot has changed. Namely, my best friend is probably adopting the baby boy, which is great.

For those who haven’t seen this before – for about a year in a half I tried to catch a beautiful stray cat named Minerva. My neighbor put me through hell refusing to catch her when he could, and refusing to catch her litters she had and I would find in dire need of medical care or … too late by then. It broke my heart and I would lose sleep worrying about her kittens. I was able to catch one and take him to a rescue. However, she became pregnant again and finally through a trap I caught her. Unfortunately, she was too far along (a week or so out till birthing them) and the rescue I had lined up refused to take a pregnant cat – so they asked me to schedule her neutering, but by then I saw kittens moving inside of her, and knew I couldn’t do that, not only for her psychological well being, but because I have a heart? I do not regret my choice.

However! I have had to ask for help from friends/family/strangers/companies I frequent – for donations of food, litter, and towards veterinary visits/spaying neutering. I’ve been very lucky to have kind people help me out but I still have a ways to go, as I have a medical bill for my own cat’s emergency surgery I am still paying off monthly. I am stressed. Very stressed.

ANY help is appreciated. Reblogging, donations, food donations through my amazon wishlist, or if you know anyone in the Charlotte NC area who wants a kitten and is a good/kind/loving human being!

Amazon Wishlist: http://a.co/549pZb4

Paypal Donations : paypal.me/elventempest

ALL of it goes towards food/vet bills/or their spaying/neutering

They just got their teeth so they will soon be eating regular kitty food, so things will be more costly, so I’m sorry to keep mentioning this, it’s just incredibly important to me they have beautiful lives and I’ve literally reached out to so many animal rescues/companies for donations and have had no luck.

This movie is the perfect example of why a bard and a rogue should never leave the party and go off on their own adventure.

Uh, this movie is a perfect example of why a bard and a rogue should absolutely leave the party and have their own adventure

Minor quibble: one of them took enough levels in ranger to get an animal companion

I would generally argue that Altivo is a player character (probably a druid) but Animal Friendship is a lvl 1 bard spell. Miquel might have just rolled really well.

Or the horse is actually a player character too

#of course miguel rolled well they have loaded dice (x)

In which Fili looks like Obi-Wan Kenobi.

The accompanying comic to the Brotherly Beard Braiding picture. Unlike Fili, Kili doesn’t take care of his hair.

Reminds me back when I was way younger and my hair was like a bramble bush (seriously, trying to brush it was like trying to drag a harrow through it).

Kili.. you can’t me majestic if you don’t take care of your locks!
