The same is true of fingerprint ID too.
I have read (but would need confirmation/this may differ by jurisdiction) that the police are not allowed to make you enter your PIN but are allowed to make you put your fingerprint on your phone to unlock it, so if the police trying to get a look at what’s on your phone is a realistic concern for you, don’t use the Touch ID option I guess.
