I’d just like to say to all the lovely, totally-not-assholish, smarter-than-thou peeps that have come onto my posts about Philippa Georgiou and told me I shouldn’t be mad that she died because she was “just a guest star”:
You know who was also a favorite guest star of mine on Star Trek?
Whoopi Goldberg.
Did she get killed off for no good reason? No? WOW.
Spoiler alert, fuckos, just because they’re a guest star doesn’t mean they need to die. The choice to kill of Philippa Georgiou was stupid. No ifs ands or buts about it. Now kindly piss off and don’t come back.
It’s called character development for Michael. Death can attribute to that.
It’s called a weak-ass form of character development that could have easily been circumvented. Michael was still going to be court-martialed no matter what. Georgiou didn’t have to die for that to happen. Michael was still going to have guilt over what went down between her and Georgiou that would need to be worked through as the series progresses. Georgiou didn’t have to die for that to happen. The events leading to Michael joining the Discovery crew were still going to occur; she would have still been considered a mutineer by the end of episode 2. Georgiou. Didn’t. Have. To. Die. For. That. To. Happen.
Now kindly piss off and don’t come back.
